ABOUT DAN JOHNS SOUND
Dan Johns Sound was founded in late 2018 while Dan was studying for his undergraduate degree at the University of Hull.

Dan Johns Sound started out by helping many music students with the recording and production of their university projects, including dissertation projects.

In April of 2018 Dan Johns Sound got its first major project in the form of James Curgenven's 'Hymns for a Crossing Soul' which took off and was played on BBC radio 3 as well as local stations.

Since then, Dan Johns Sound has gone from strength to strength working on a variety of projects with a variety of creators.
ABOUT DAN
Dan's inital musical training was as a trumpet player, taught by Kevin Holbrough. Initially Dan focused on classical playing but slowly moved over to Jazz throughout his academic career.

Towards the end of his school life, Dan realised he prefered working behind the scenes instead of being on stage. This led him to study Creative Music Technology at the University of Hull, and is now studying for a Masters in Music.

Although Dan is now primarily a sound engineer, he also plays trumpet in the Ska band 'Special Bru' and is a trumpet teacher in his spare time.
